29 April 2026
Special Interest Session, Multimodal mobility system management
Special Interest Session SIS 61 11:45 > 12:45 SIS 61 One Baltic journey: Data driven multimodal management across three countries MAÇKA Special Interest Session

Building on the momentum of the Baltic Mobility Collaborative (BMC), introduced at the ITS Europe Congress in Seville, this follow-up session will focus on advancing the cross-border mobility services across the Baltics. As the Baltic region works towards more seamless passenger and freight flows, digital infrastructure—including real-time data platforms, digital twins, and MaaS solutions—has become essential for enabling door-to-door, multimodal trips across national boundaries.  Moderated by Evan Costagliola, an expert in regional MaaS and mobility governance, the session will bring together representatives from all three Baltic states. Speakers will present developments and ideas in areas such as e-ticketing, on-demand mobility, multimodal transport management, cross-border rail and bus coordination, and sustainable mobility data platforms together with state data agencies. The discussion will also include insights on secure digital identity solutions for travel and micromobility.  Together, the speakers will discuss how shared digital frameworks can accelerate the BMC’s objectives and how the Baltic experience can serve as a model for other European regions facing similar challenges. The session will outline concrete next steps for harmonising data, aligning governance structures, and scaling interoperable mobility services across borders, ultimately contributing to a more integrated, user-centred Single Market for mobility.
