Special Interest Session
This session looks at how modern intelligent systems are helping to improve both the safety and resilience of today’s mobility networks. The focus is on practical examples that show how digital tools support traffic operations, enhance day-to-day efficiency, and enable more reliable decision-making when disruptions occur. One area covered is the use of AI-supported methods for traffic monitoring, which can identify risky situations earlier and contribute to safer road conditions. The session also highlights how better coordination across different transport modes—from road and rail to maritime and air transport—can strengthen logistics, reduce delays, and support more sustainable operations. Another emphasis is on data-fusion techniques that turn large, diverse data sources into clear, actionable insights for traffic management. In addition, the session explores how real-time information from multiple regions can be combined to improve traffic flow, reduce unnecessary diversions, and enable quicker responses to incidents. By bringing together technical, organisational, and operational perspectives, the session shows how intelligent approaches can help build safer, smarter, and more robust mobility systems. A short interactive questionnaire invites the audience to share their views and priorities.
