European cities are redefining their mobility systems to respond to climate neutrality targets while ensuring equality and safety for all users. By combining urban space redesign, multimodal integration, advanced digital tools and data, and citizen co-creation, cities are trying to find novel and efficient approaches to inclusive and resilient transport. This session will focus on actual solutions that are helping cities move toward climate neutrality while keeping people at the centre. Main topics to be addressed are related to mobility justice and concerns, for instance, gender inclusive mobility, design and solutions to manage dense traffic areas with high volumes of vulnerable road users,. No one should be left behind in the transition to climate-neutral and smart transport systems. Through short presentations and a moderated discussion, the speakers will showcase innovative approaches being deployed across Europe to redesign urban space and integrate inclusivity into mobility planning and will explore how a holistic combination of technology, policy, multimodal planning, and citizen engagement can drive sustainable mobility.
