Special Interest Session SIS 49 09:00 > 10:00 SIS 49 Accelerating carbon-free smart cities: How MaaS and CCAM revolutionize urban mobility by ISO standards YILDIZ 1 Special Interest Session

The ISO London Declaration’s commitment to align international standards with UN Sustainable Development Goals provides a robust framework for advancing carbon-free urban mobility through Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM). MaaS platforms can integrate automated electric minibuses, address mobility gaps and reducing emissions by offering seamless, sustainable transport options. Standardization efforts, such as those by ISO/TC 204/WG 17, ensure interoperability and enable real-time sharing of energy and CO2 data, empowering users to make informed, eco-friendly choices. CCAM technologies further enhance smart city mobility by addressing temporal and spatial flexibility of the users. Mission control and management for AV multivendor fleets, Dynamic mapping and ODD map annotation as well as information to integrate AV into a MaaS have to be standardised to enable benefits. With the Integration of AV into a Maas (connecting the dots through interoperability) with standardised open APIs, AV becomes a game changer for the transport System, making it more flexible, resilient and efficient. Central to this transformation is a coopetitive open API- and open data-sharing strategy ensuring privacy, safety and security regulations. Distinguished speakers will show how standardization can accelerate the decarbonization strategy of cities.
