Special Interest Session
This Special Interest Session brings together leading European projects working to enable safe, trusted and human-centred Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM). Building on the work of CHORUS and GOLIA, the session explores how harmonised safety validation, coordinated governance models, and real-world operational learnings can accelerate the deployment and acceptance of automated mobility across Europe. From the CHORUS perspective, the session will present ongoing efforts to develop shared evaluation frameworks, cross-project harmonisation, and transparent safety communication to policymakers, industry and citizens. Complementing this, GOLIA will contribute insights from its upcoming activities on multi-level governance, stakeholder engagement, and the social optimum of transport innovation, highlighting how coordinated decision-making across authorities and community actors can maximise societal benefits. City partners — including potential contributors such as Helsinki — will share their experiences in designing local governance structures, engaging diverse stakeholders, and preparing urban testbeds for CCAM innovation. <br> Technology providers – ADASTEC- will bring concrete industry experience from operating full-size Level-4 automated buses and providing insights into the real-world technical and operational challenges of deploying autonomous public transport at scale. Together, the session will illustrate how harmonisation, governance coordination and user-centred deployment strategies can jointly shape a safer, more resilient and socially valuable CCAM ecosystem.
