SIS 37 Practical tools and policies to steer New Shared Mobility Services in cities

28 April 2026
Special Interest Session, Multimodal mobility system management
Special Interest Session SIS 37 15:30 > 16:30 SIS 37 Practical tools and policies to steer New Shared Mobility Services in cities ÇAMLICA Special Interest Session

New Shared Mobility Services — shared bikes, scooters, mopeds, and carsharing — are now established components of urban mobility. Yet cities still face practical questions about how to integrate them effectively: which policies actually shape travel behaviour, how to collect and share the data needed to evaluate them, and how to fund services in ways that deliver measurable public value.
This Special Interest Session brings two public authorities together with three teams working directly with cities. The public authorities share concrete lessons from their shared mobility integration work — what their policies have delivered, what has been harder than expected, and what they would approach differently next time. Alongside them, practitioners present a selection of newly available tools: a framework for linking mobility performance to sustainability outcomes; an open data platform designed for cross-city comparison and methodology reuse; and an outcome-based procurement approach that enables cities to fund desirable trips rather than rely solely on multi-year tenders.
The session brings these perspectives together, drawing out where policies, data, and funding mechanisms reinforce each other — and where cities still need better support to turn shared mobility into a reliable contributor to modal shift and sustainability goals.
