This session focuses on the RTTI 5-Star Rating Framework and the benefits of its application for Road Operators and ITS Service Providers. Developed by TISA, it introduces a clear, measurable methodology to assess and improve the quality of Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) for Speed Limits, Road Works, and Road Closures. Road operators can then systematically identify potentials for better data quality, prioritize measures for improvements, and plan incremental upgrades with the confidence that investments will result in increased coverage, impact in traffic and uptake by service providers. The RTTI 5-Star Requirements Specification establishes a practical benchmark for data quality, supporting transparent evaluation, subcontractor management, and strategic infrastructure planning. ITS Service Providers benefit as well, because harmonized quality criteria and thresholds accelerate the uptake of high-quality public feeds, simplify connection and fusion of data sources globally, thus enable seamless integration with navigation and mobility services. The session will discuss results from first pilots in Denmark (2025) and Spain (2026) and introduce TISAs ongoing work on the Evaluation Methodology, which relies on innovative data analytics techniques. Further, an outlook on new Priority Use Cases is given.
