Over recent years, research and innovation (r&i) actions have been encouraged to better account for societal needs and concerns, with the objective to increase the potential for, and to accelerate adoption and impact. One key element towards this objective is to better understand and to improve user acceptance. However, while user acceptance research has been established as a key element in r&i actions, differing views prevail amongst practitioners on how exactly user acceptance should be integrated in r&i actions to help develop products and solutions that are characterised by true societal readiness. The session addresses these concerns by bringing together practitioners across different areas of mobility innovation and, lead by four speakers, actively engaging them in separate discussions on four key issues: - How can we learn from knowledge on user acceptance acquired in similar innovation actions? - Who are the users that need to accept the products and solutions? - How is acceptance linked to value, willingness-to-pay and price? - How can we close the loop by feeding back insights of user acceptance into the refinement of the products and solutions?
