Europe’s transition toward net-zero transport requires rapid deployment of zero-emission heavy-duty fleets, including battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell trucks. While technological innovation is advancing quickly, scaling these solutions across real transport systems remains a major challenge. The missing link is often business model innovation. This session explores how new business models can unlock the commercial viability of automated and zero-emission fleets by creating new revenue streams and ecosystem partnerships across mobility, energy, and data sectors.

We will highlight practical innovations, such as energy-as-a-service solutions, charging service models, and the monetization of emission credits and carbon-reduction certificates, that can accelerate the adoption of zero-emission trucks. The Nordic region offers a powerful testbed for these ideas, combining renewable energy leadership with advanced digital infrastructure.

The session will also explore how zero-emission technologies and automation can reinforce each other, for example, through automated fleet operations, optimized energy management, and data-driven logistics systems that improve efficiency while reducing emissions.
